SEMI-ANILINE OR ANILINE LEATHER
Aniline leather is the closest you get to the animal`s raw, natural hide, and scars and insect bites may be visible on the surface. It has a very soft, pleasant feel and has incredible breathability and comfort. However, since Vintage aniline leather is dyed all the way through and does not have a top layer of protection, it is also very sensitive to stains and dirt and therefore require care and regular treatment to maintain its exquisite properties. Only a regular treatment from the beginning ensure high protection against stains. We recommend waterproofing treatment before use, and further the leather should be treated with aniline cream 3-4 times a year.
Semi-Aniline is a natural looking leather with some of the unique surface characteristics of the animal hide remaining visible. This type of leather may contain a small amount of pigment in the surface coating. This will give some degree of extra protection but some shade variation should be expected. A recommended semi-aniline leather protection cream should be applied 3-4 times a year to offer more protection against staining and scratching and keeping the leather from drying out.
PRODUCT CARE LEATHER
DAILY CARE ANILINE & SEMI-ANILINE
Dust on a regular basis with a soft cloth or vacuum with a soft brush.
If you spill any liquids on your furniture, use an absorbing cloth to immediately dab off as much as you can, but do not rub. Do not use excess water as it may leave stains on the leather.
Do not use household cleaning products, only maintenance products intended for leather.
A damp cloth can be used to remove dirt (A very mild soap solution may be used on semi-aniline leather only).
Avoid placing your leather furniture in direct sunlight as the color will fade.
When applying recommended creams, always pay attention to the instructions and test on an inconspicuous area first, as it may affect the color.
